Nakhon Si Thammarat Airport offers about 12 direct flights from Bangkok per day with Nok Air and Thai AirAsia and Thai Lion with efforts being made to upgrade to accept international flights.
The area is also serviced by Surat Thani International Airport to the north with flights arriving from China, Chiang Mai and Bangkok. Nakhon is also just a two and a half hour drive from Krabi and a four hour drive from Phuket.
